The agreement stipulates a gross charter rate of $14,600 per day, minus a 4.75% commission for third parties. The charter period is set to begin on July 19, 2024, and will run until at least June 1, 2025, with a maximum end date of July 31, 2025.

This charter is expected to generate around $4.57 million in gross revenue for the minimum duration of the contract.

Following the planned sale of the vessel Houston, Diana Shipping's fleet will comprise 38 dry bulk vessels. This fleet includes four newcastlemaxes, eight capesizes, five post-panamaxes, six kamsarmaxes, six panamaxes, and nine ultramaxes.

Additionally, Diana Shipping is set to expand its fleet with the delivery of two methanol dual fuel kamsarmax new-buildings, expected in the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028.

As of now, the fleet's combined carrying capacity, including the Houston but excluding the two new vessels yet to be delivered, stands at approximately 4.4 million dwt, with a weighted average age of 10.94 years.
