On March 16, the Hong Kong-flagged container ship "YM Witness" collided with three cranes while attempting to berth at Kocaeli Evyap Port in Turkey. The incident occurred under the guidance of a pilot, resulting in the overturning of the cranes.
Following the accident, the port authorities closed two berths for repairs. However, the General Directorate of Maritime Affairs has now confirmed that the necessary repairs have been completed, and the affected berths are once again operational.
In an official statement, it was announced that the dock has been restored to full functionality, allowing the first ship to dock for handling since the incident. This development marks the successful completion of repair works following the collision at Kocaeli Evyap Port in March.
