Houthi Forces Target US Navy Ships in Arabian Sea

Yemen's Houthi group claims missile and drone strikes on a US destroyer and supply ships in the Arabian Sea amid escalating regional tensions over Gaza.

Yemen's Houthi group announced a military operation targeting a US destroyer and three US military supply ships—Stena Impeccable, Maersk Saratoga, and Liberty Grace—in the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Aden. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree stated that 16 ballistic and cruise missiles, along with a drone, were used in the operation, achieving "precise and direct hits."

Saree emphasized continued attacks in the region against American and Israeli targets unless the blockade on Gaza is lifted. The statement comes amid heightened regional tensions following Israel's prolonged war on Gaza, which has drawn international criticism and legal action, including arrest warrants from the International Criminal Court for Israeli leaders over alleged war crimes.

Washington has not commented on the Houthi claims.
