Lomar Shipping Sells Final Containership, Shifts Focus

Lomar Shipping, a subsidiary of the Libra Group, has completed the sale of its final containership, marking the sale of over 90 boxships in the past decade. This move aligns with the company's strategic shift towards innovation and sustainability, while maintaining a presence in the maritime sector with a fleet of approximately 30 dry bulk ships and tankers.

"Lomar's departure from the container sector was a deliberate part of a decade-long strategic asset plan," stated Nicholas Georgiou, CEO of Lomar Shipping, during an interview with Reuters at the Posidonia event in Athens.

Libra Group, under the control of the Logothetis family, comprises 20 subsidiaries and operates in sectors including maritime, aerospace, renewable energy, real estate, hospitality, and diversified industries.
