On December 6, 2024, the partners held a symposium to share expertise on the benefits and implementation of alternative marine power (AMP) containers, a key tool for reducing emissions. This event followed a significant milestone achieved on December 4, when ONE successfully trialed its AMP container at NZPG's terminal. The trial marked the first use of shore power at a Chinese port through a lift-on/lift-off AMP container, supporting cold ironing and cutting emissions during port stays.

AMP containers enable shore power connectivity for ships lacking built-in AMP systems. These units are temporarily lifted onto vessels for power supply, ensuring environmental compliance and operational efficiency.

Hiroki Tsujii, ONE's Global Chief Officer, emphasized the importance of collaboration in reducing the maritime industry's carbon footprint, citing shore power as a practical solution for decarbonization.

ONE's commitment to sustainable practices includes its Green Strategy and Decarbonization Roadmap, aiming for a 70% reduction in Scope 1 emissions per TEU-km by 2030 and full decarbonization of maritime shipping by 2050.
