The Bergen-based company secured the 2024 Nantong Xiangyu-built Century Zhengzhou through a resale deal valued at just over $38 million.

This new addition, with a deadweight tonnage of 63,600, is a sister ship to Spar’s recently delivered Spar Mira. The vessel was originally ordered in August 2021 by China's Ebridge Capital and was delivered in June this year.

Spar Shipping’s fleet now includes 26 bulk carriers, consisting of nine Ultramaxes and 17 Supramaxes. Recently, the company was also noted for selling its 2005-built Supramax, Spar Lyra, to Chinese buyers for $10.3 million in July.
