This sale follows a recent $16.5 million deal with an unaffiliated third party for sister vessel Ariana A, which will result in a loss of about $3.3 million. Castor currently owns 13 vessels, including 10 bulk carriers and three containerships.

Earlier this month, the company also acquired a majority stake in MPC Münchmeyer Petersen Capital, a tonnage provider with a fleet of 63 vessels.
