COSCO Launches World's Largest Eco-Friendly Pulp Transport Vessels

COSCO has introduced the world's largest professional pulp transport vessels, boasting advanced features designed to enhance overall performance, energy efficiency, and future fuel readiness.

These vessels are both LNG and methanol-ready, ensuring they meet future fuel requirements while reducing their environmental impact.

The ship designs have been optimised for energy efficiency, with hull profiles tailored to match the power output and speed of the main engines, ensuring maximum energy savings and high economic efficiency. The vessels are built to be versatile, with the ability to transport a variety of cargo, including high-speed rail trains, wind turbine equipment, new energy vehicles, heavy machinery, and ultra-long steel pipe piles.

With an overall length of 225.0 meters, a width of 32.26 meters, and a moulded depth of 21.0 meters, these ships are designed to cruise at a speed of 15 knots and achieve an endurance of 25,000 nautical miles. Their cargo holds feature a container-type construction equipped with rotary dehumidifiers to ensure optimal conditions for transporting pulp, preserving both its quality and safety throughout the journey.

For the transport of new energy vehicles, the vessels are fitted with a one-to-one temperature monitoring and early warning system, addressing the specific needs of this sensitive cargo. These features reflect COSCO’s commitment to advancing green shipping and sustainable transport solutions.
