US shipping giant Crowley has strengthened its harbour services by acquiring Main Line, a Seattle-based vessel mooring company. The acquisition enables Crowley to offer more comprehensive solutions for vessel mooring and ship assist needs at the ports of Seattle and Tacoma.

Main Line has long provided vessel mooring services in the Pacific Northwest, and its staff will join Crowley as part of the asset purchase agreement.

James Fowler, Senior Vice President of Crowley Shipping, stated that adding vessel mooring to its harbour services will improve coordination between vessel mooring and ship assist, ensuring smoother operations and reduced delays for customers.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
