The event opened with speeches from Prof. Dr. Özcan Arslan, Dean of ITU Maritime Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Şükrü Turan Beşiktepe, Head of the Department of Marine Sciences at Dokuz Eylül University's Institute of Marine Sciences and Technology. Following the introductions, Prof. Dr. Kadir Seyhan from Karadeniz Technical University gave a presentation on the H2020 DOORS Project.

Dr. Ayşe Gazihan from AG Marine Solutions then presented "New Generation Data and Model-Based Products and Services for Climate-Compatible Carbon-Neutral Maritime." Later, Prof. Dr. Şükrü Turan Beşiktepe returned to introduce the "System of Systems for Observation, Monitoring, and Modeling" platform.

Müjdat Aydın provided insights on the use of the System of Systems (SoS) framework, covering topics such as Data Viewer, Dashboards, Jupyter Notebook, and Simple Data Extraction.

The event concluded with presentations by Dr. Ömer Durrani from Karadeniz Technical University on "Fish Farm Site Selection and Operations," and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Canan Eronat, who discussed "Examples of Maritime Applications."

What is the DOORS Black Sea Project?

The DOORS project, "Developing Optimal and Open Research Support for the Black Sea," is a €9 million EU research initiative aimed at connecting science, policy, and industry to address the renewal of the Black Sea's damaged ecosystems. The project brings together expertise and technology from 35 institutions across the Black Sea region and other European countries to tackle the impacts of human activity and climate change on the region.
