The crew swiftly tackled the “small fire,” extinguishing it quickly. The massive vessel, measuring nearly 1,200 feet in length and weighing 250,800 gross tons, briefly lost power, but the backup systems were immediately activated.

A spokesperson for Royal Caribbean confirmed that the well-trained crew successfully managed the situation. The $2-billion Icon of the Seas, which gained attention earlier this year for its seven swimming pools and a 17,000-square-foot water park, continues its voyage without impact on its current itinerary, now heading to Cozumel, Mexico.

In a previous incident in March, a fire also broke out on a Carnival Cruise Lines ship, with a passenger capturing footage of the flames.
