Medkon Acquires Five Contships Vessels

Turkey’s Medkon Lines has acquired five 966 TEU container ships from Contships Management for $37.5 million, potentially modernizing its fleet with these new additions.

Turkey’s Medkon Lines has purchased five 966 TEU sister ships from Greek tonnage provider Contships Management in a $37.5 million en bloc deal, according to Alphaliner– The vessels – Contship Ana, Contship Max, Contship Pep, Contship Quo, and Contship Bee – were built in China between 2005 and 2007.

Alphaliner suggests that Medkon could deploy these newly acquired vessels to – 652 TEU multipurpose cargo ships in its fleet.

Medkon currently operates 17 vessels with capacities ranging from 154 to 1,200 TEU, while Contships' fleet consists of 46 vessels.
