Longshore workers at the Port of Montreal, represented by CUPE 375, have announced a 24-hour strike set to begin at 7 a.m. on Sunday, October 27, and ending at 6:59 a.m. on Monday, October 28. The union has also called for an extraordinary general meeting on Sunday to discuss ongoing labor issues.

This strike follows a previous three-day work stoppage in September and continued strike actions, including a refusal to work overtime. The longshore workers have been without a collective agreement since December 31, 2023, prompting their push for better working conditions and negotiations.
