Prominent figures such as Cihan Ergenç, President of the Turkish Shipowners Association, Başaran Bayrak, Speaker of the Assembly Turkish Chamber of Shipping, and members of the Chamber’s Board of Directors including Barış Dillioğlu, Serhat Barış Türkmen, and Burak Akartaş, as well as WISTA Turkey President Suzan Atasoy and GİSBİR Vice President Orhan Torlak, were among the attendees. The opening speech by Turkish Ship Brokers Association Chairman Onur Türkeş received a standing ovation from the audience.
During his speech, Chairman Türkeş highlighted the “101 Scholarships for 101 Female Student” campaign, organized in collaboration with WISTA Turkey.
“101 Scholarships for Female Students” in the 101st Year of the Republic of Turkey
Chairman Onur Türkeş emphasized the importance of maintaining strong social relationships and a spirit of solidarity inherent in the profession of ship brokering. He stated, “Ensuring that future generations become strong actors is only possible through quality education. We are proud to support 101 female students in the 101st year of our Republic,” he said.
Türkeş emphasized that supporting education is an investment in the future of the sector, adding, “Education is the cornerstone of not only individual development but also the economic and sustainable development of a country.”
WISTA Turkey President Suzan Atasoy, who was invited to the stage by Chairman Onur Türkeş, noted that over 500 students have benefited from the scholarship projects over the past 15 years, thanking everyone who contributed to the success of the project.
Thanks to the Social Committee
During the event, the Turkish Ship Brokers Association Social Committee, which played a key role in organizing the event, was invited to the stage. Volunteers and dedicated committee members including Sim Gülle, Alp Erdoğdu, Aykut Aksu, Burak Kınay, Burcu Bozat, Deniz Maral, Gökay Ünsal, Gözde Türkeş, Kübra Caner, Orkan Özsoy, Deniz Argıç, Özgür Pınar, and Seray Kolçak were thanked for their contributions.
While the organization continued with the national anthems sung in unison, the dance performances later in the night gave the attendees unforgettable moments.
