Vanhui Shipping Signs Contract for New Ultramax Bulk Carriers

Vanhui Shipping has taken steps to expand its dry bulk fleet by ordering two ultramax vessels from Jiangsu Haitong Offshore Engineering Equipment.

The Hong Kong-based company has contracted 63,500 dwt units for delivery in the first half of 2027 at an undisclosed price.

Vanhui Shipping currently has a fleet of six bulkers, and their last order for newbuilds was in June 2020. Those 63,900 dwt units were delivered from Nantong Xiangyu last year.

Jiangsu Haitong has also recently secured ultramax orders from Franbo Lines, marking the Taiwanese bulker owner's first newbuilding deal in China. Four ships have been ordered, with one scheduled for early delivery in May 2025.
