Disney Cruise Line announced plans to expand its fleet with three new ships, set to arrive between 2027 and 2031. This addition will bring the total fleet to 13 ships by 2031. The news was shared by Josh D'Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences, during the D23 fan event.

Details about the ship names, designs, and itineraries are still in development, and the builder has not yet been disclosed.

Currently, Disney Cruise Line operates five ships, with four more in progress. The 144,000 gross ton (gt) Disney Treasure is scheduled to begin service in December from Port Canaveral, while the Disney Destiny is expected to be delivered in late 2025. The 208,000gt Disney Adventure, formerly known as World Dream, is being completed by Meyer Werft at the former WV Weften and is planned for a 2025 debut in Singapore. Additionally, Oriental Land Co., which operates Disney parks in Tokyo, has ordered a Wish-class ship for Japan, with delivery expected in late 2028.

Meyer Werft has been the primary builder for Disney’s ships, except for the first two, Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, which were constructed by Fincantieri.
