Milaha Wins EPCIC Contract for Fiber Link Project

Qatar Navigation's subsidiary, Halul Offshore Services, has won a QAR 262 million contract with North Oil Company to enhance data connectivity in Qatar’s energy sector through a new fiber cable system.

Qatar Navigation Q.P.S.C. (Milaha) announced that its subsidiary, Halul Offshore Services Company, has secured a significant EPCIC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Commissioning) contract for the New Fiber Link Project with North Oil Company (NOC). Valued at over QAR 262 million, this project aims to enhance connectivity and data transmission within Qatar’s energy sector.

Halul Offshore will construct a new fiber cable system stretching 140 kilometers from Al Kabaan to Ras Laffan and the Al-Shaheen oil field. The installation will utilize specialized equipment and subsea bridges, with the cable buried and protected before integration with existing platform assets.

Fahad bin Saad Al Qahtani, Milaha's Group CEO, expressed pride in being selected for this vital project. He emphasized that the contract aligns with Milaha’s strategic goals of expanding services and supporting Qatar’s sustainable development. The new fiber optic system is expected to facilitate the digital transformation of the energy sector and improve operational efficiency.
