Terminal operator PSA Antwerp and Antwerp-based rail terminal Combinant have joined forces to establish an integrated service aimed at optimizing connectivity between PSA’s deepsea terminals and the Combinant Rail Terminal in the Port of Antwerp. This initiative is designed to facilitate a modal shift from road to rail, enhancing sustainability at one of Europe’s key container hubs.

“As businesses increasingly seek fast, cost-effective, and sustainable transport options for their products between the deepsea port and the respective hinterlands, the shift from road to rail has become a valuable alternative,” PSA highlighted in a press release.

The new trucking service will link PSA’s two deepsea terminals on the right bank of the River Scheldt with the Combinant Rail Terminal, located in the northern part of the port.
