2 vessels collided in the Marmara Sea

The Turkish Directorate General of Coastal Safety reported that Volgo Don 207 and Astrid L collided at Ahırkapı Anchorage Area.

Directorate General of Coastal Safety (DGCC) announced that Volgo Don 207, a 138 meters long general cargo ship, collided with the 147 meters long container ship Astrid L while anchored at Ahırkapı Anchorage Area.

"Upon the information that the 138-meter-long general cargo vessel VOLGO DON 207 collided with the 147-meter-long container ship ASTRID L while anchored at Ahırkapı Anchorage Area, our KEGM-6 fast rescue boat belonging to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Directorate General of Coastal Safety was immediately directed to the area. There was material damage to the ships and no loss of life, injury and environmental pollution were detected during the controls." stated The Directorate General of Coastal Safety.
