Carrier Transicold Hosts Ngee Ann Polytechnic Students

Carrier Transicold recently welcomed students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s School of Engineering (SOE) to its Singapore manufacturing facility, providing them with the opportunity to explore advanced manufacturing and robotic technologies.

Carrier Transicold, a division of Carrier Global Corporation, a leader in climate and energy solutions, hosted the visit as part of its efforts to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education.

The students, part of the Common Engineering Programme (CEP), participated in interactive sessions led by Carrier Transicold’s leadership and engineering teams, gaining insights into the real-world application of STEM skills. This initiative is in line with Carrier’s broader commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and practical industry experience.

Ooi Giap Hwai, Senior Manager of Manufacturing Operations at Carrier Transicold, emphasized the company’s goal to inspire students to pursue STEM careers, particularly in areas related to technology and sustainability. He highlighted Carrier’s focus on reducing its environmental impact through energy-efficient products and sustainable practices.

“The tour of the manufacturing facility allowed our students to see the practical applications of their STEM education and gain valuable industry insights,” said Louis Ng, Course Chair for Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Mechanical Engineering course. “We look forward to future collaborations with Carrier to continue inspiring and encouraging the next generation of innovators."
