German Tanker Shipping Increases Product Carrier Orders in China to Six

German Tanker Shipping has expanded its order book for product carriers in China to a total of six. The Bremen-based company has exercised options for two additional 41,000 dwt units at Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding and Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry. This decision comes as construction begins on a series of four tankers that were ordered late last year at an undisclosed price.

Founded in 1998, German Tanker Shipping currently manages a fleet of 14 oil product tankers, all built in Germany. Nine of these vessels sail under the German flag, while the remaining five are registered under the flag of the Seychelles.

The new 199-meter-long vessels, designed by Swedish Fartygskonstruktioner, will be constructed at Xiamen Shipbuilding, with deliveries scheduled to commence from mid-2025 onward.
