Ocean Infinity Unveils First Armada 86 Vessel

Ocean Infinity has received the Armada 86 01, the first in a new series of 85-meter robotic vessels constructed by Norwegian shipbuilder Vard at its Vung Tau facilities in Vietnam.

The vessel is intended to support the company’s operations across multiple sectors.

The Armada 86 01 is designed to operate remotely from shore and is prepared to utilize green ammonia as fuel, aligning with Ocean Infinity's focus on sustainability in maritime operations.

Built with a steel hull and equipped with DP2 capabilities, the vessel can perform a variety of roles, including geophysical surveys, geotechnical sampling, inspection, and maintenance tasks. It is also designed to support Ocean Infinity’s remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), seabed drills, and Continuous Penetration Testing (CPT) systems.

Key features of the vessel include a removable aft bulwark for over-the-stern deployment of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) and a modular Launch and Recovery System (LARS) integrated into the moonpool. The LARS operates fully automatically and can be controlled remotely from Ocean Infinity's Remote Control Center (RCC) network.

The Armada 86 01 can accommodate up to 16 crew members and payload personnel, ensuring support for extended operations.

This delivery marks a significant step in Ocean Infinity’s efforts to enhance its fleet and expand its capabilities while prioritizing sustainable and innovative solutions in the maritime industry.
