Protesters Block Access to Georgia's Poti Port

Anti-government protesters block access to Poti Port, Georgia's largest commercial port, after the ruling party suspends EU membership talks.

Georgian anti-government protesters blocked an access road to the Poti Port, the country’s largest commercial port, in the Black Sea city of Poti on Sunday, according to Interpress. The demonstration follows the ruling party’s decision to suspend EU membership talks for four years.

Poti Port, operated by APM Terminals, handles 80% of Georgia's container traffic. Images showed at least one entrance blocked, though the extent of the disruption remains unclear.

The protest reflects growing discontent with the government's stance on European Union integration.
