This initiative seeks to demonstrate and validate a system that leverages data-based digital twins for commercial marine operations. In collaboration with industry stakeholders, the project will explore the potential of these models to drive long-term emission reductions by integrating electrical or alternative fuel drivelines and implementing predictive maintenance strategies.

The project will utilize model- and simulation-driven development, edge computing, and cloud technology to facilitate secure data exchange among processes and stakeholders. These stakeholders include suppliers, operational owners, ship owners, shipyards, research institutes, and OEMs. The approach aims to minimize or eliminate the need for physical sensors and automate model development for each vessel.

Key participants in the project include CAISR and RISE as research partners, Quoakka as the development partner, Trafikverket as the operational owner, Erik Thun and Stena Line as ship owners, and Profjord as the design company. Upon completion, all partners will disseminate the project results through various channels.
