On December 23, Seaboard Marine announced the arrival of the Seaboard Victory, the second LNG-powered vessel in its V-Class fleet. This state-of-the-art containership will strengthen key trade routes across the Americas, enhancing sustainable, efficient, and reliable maritime transportation.
After completing its inaugural calls at Callao and Pisco ports, the Seaboard Victory joins Seaboard Marine’s strategic rotation across the Caribbean Basin, Central America, and South America. The vessel, powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), aligns with the company’s sustainability goals, reducing emissions while improving operational efficiency.
Built by China’s Taizhou Sanfu Shipbuilding and delivered in mid-November, the Seaboard Victory is 247.9 meters long with a 3,500 TEU capacity and over 1,000 refrigerated container plugs. This vessel is the second of eight LNG-powered ships Seaboard Marine will receive by 2025, following the delivery of the Seaboard Voyager in August 2024.
In addition to its newbuilds, Seaboard Marine purchased the Seaboard Blue in 2023, retrofitted in 2017 to run on both LNG and diesel fuel. It was the world’s first containership converted from diesel to LNG propulsion.
